IDS ProKick is a multifunctional expansion card for Amiga computers, developed by the German company Intelligent Data Systems in 1992. This card combines several functions, including:
Slot Conversion: Allows Zorro II expansion cards to be connected to Amiga 500 and Amiga 1000 via the side expansion port.
EPROM Programmer: Enables burning EPROM chips, mainly for updating Kickstart.
Kickstart Switcher: Allows switching between different Kickstart versions stored on EPROM chips.
There are two versions of this card:
The card connects to the side expansion port of the Amiga and provides a passthrough connector for additional devices. Zorro cards are installed vertically. The ProKick is also compatible with the Amiga 2000, though with limited functionality. The ProKick XL was designed for use in a tower case, allowing both the card and the Amiga 500 motherboard to be installed.
This expansion card was popular among Amiga users who wanted to enhance their systems with additional hardware and update their system software.
