Memory Expansion: Adds 512 KB of RAM to the Amiga 500’s built-in 512 KB, effectively doubling the total memory to 1 MB. This additional memory is essential for many games and applications that require more than the base 512 KB RAM.
Real-Time Clock (RTC): Built-in clock with battery backup, allowing the system to retain the correct time and date even when powered off.
Installation: The module is installed in the trapdoor expansion slot located on the bottom of the Amiga 500. Installation is simple and requires no special tools—just open the slot cover and insert the module.
Many of these modules contain Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries for the RTC, which can leak over time and damage the circuit board. It is recommended to regularly check the battery and replace or remove it if necessary to prevent damage caused by electrolyte leakage.
